Preplan Information

To the business's in the Town of Madison:

The Madison Fire Department is introducing a pre-plan system to our training and firefighting strategies. A pre-plan is a layout of your property showing buildings, doorways, exposures to other buildings, utility shut-offs, and locations and descriptions of hazardous materials. We would also plan out closest water locations, water supply operations, and what area fire departments would be called mutual aid in the event of an emergency. An emergency contact list would also be included, detailing your utility suppliers (eg NYSEG, Valley Propane, Time Warner, Frontier, etc) as well as keyholder information.

We would like to do a walk through of your business and make the pre-plan of your facility. We will share the pre-plans with neighboring fire departments as well as keep a copy in chief's vehicles and fire trucks so all responding agencies will have an idea of planned operations in the event of an emergency.
